No, you don’t have to reserve a bike days in advance. You can certainly order a bike on the same day. However, due to the possibility of selling out during peak times, we recommend making a reservation a few days ahead to guarantee availability and ensure a smooth experience.
We only rent bikes by the day, allowing you to enjoy your ride at a leisurely pace without the pressure of hourly rentals.
Yes, regardless of whether you are ordering for a single day or multiple days, you will be charged the full rate for the bike, no matter what time you rent it, including if you place an order at 2 PM the same day.
We only offer delivery services. We can deliver bikes either to your place of stay or to a designated pick-up/drop-off location for your convenience.
We will notify you via text or email once your bike has been delivered to your specified address.
If you don’t want your bike dropped off where you’re staying or if there’s no spot to park the bikes, you can select one of our designated Pick-Up/Drop-Off areas to conveniently receive your beach cruiser.

If you’re only staying for the day, you can rent a bike for 1 day. Please note that the deadline for same-day orders is 2 PM, as delivery can take up to 2 hours. This ensures you have plenty of time to enjoy your ride before pick-up at 7 PM.
Yes, when renting our beach cruisers, we provide locks at no additional cost for your convenience and peace of mind.
At Tour the Shore Bike Rentals, we prioritize safety for all our riders. While we do not require lights on the bike or helmets, we highly recommend that bikers use both to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Your safety is our top concern, and we encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions while enjoying their ride. Yes, we provide both lights and helmets at Tour the Shore Bike Rentals with the rental purchase of the bike, if wanted.
Tour the Shore Bike Rentals recommends riding in the bike lanes when available for your safety. If bike lanes are not present, the sidewalk going with traffic is another option. We also suggest riding along the boardwalk, as long as you’re not riding during boardwalk restriction hours.
Rules are enforced on May 15th to September 15th:
- Ocean Grove: Boardwalk Open for Biking from 3AM to 9AM
- Asbury Park: Boardwalk Open for Biking from 12AM to 10AM
- Belmar: Boardwalk Open for Biking from 6AM to 9AM
- Bradley Beach: Boardwalk Open for Biking from 12AM to 9AM
- Avon by the Sea: Boardwalk Open for Biking from 12AM to 9AM
Before May 15th and after September 15th can ride on boardwalk whenever
Stolen/Lost Policy
- Bike stolen or broken beyond repair: $350
- Normal wear & tear: $0
- Broken part (can repair): $50
